Rules for COPA "A"

This tournament will have a total of 32 teams in groups of 4 teams.   Each team will play 3 games against each of the teams in its group.  The top 2 teams in each group will advance to the round of 16, which will be single elimination. 

The MANDATORY check-in of the COPA "A" will be the Friday before the tournament starts from 8:00 pm to 9:15 pm at TBA.  Player do not need to be present.

1 PLAYER REGISTRATION: All teams must be turn-in their initial roster by Friday before the tournament (player's list) in the official form only.. Any team or player determined by the event director to have falsified the name, age or skill level will be dismissed from the tournament. All players must carry identification proof, i.e.: driver’s license, passport, etc.  The document must be an original and must have the players name, birthdates and a recent picture.   The team must produce the player's  identification proof immediately upon request from the tournament officials. 1 REGISTRACION DEL JUGADOR: Todos los equipos deberan entregrar la lista oficial de jugadores (solo en la forma oficial) el Viernes antes del torneo. . Cualquier equipo o jugador determinado por el director del evento que haya falsificado el nombre, la edad o el nivel de habilidad será expulsado del torneo. Todos los jugadores deben llevar una prueba de identificación, es decir, licencia de conducir, pasaporte, etc. El documento debe ser original y debe tener el nombre del jugador, la fecha de nacimiento y una foto reciente. El equipo debe presentar la prueba de identificación inmediatamente a solicitud de los oficiales del torneo.
2 ROSTERS: Player's may still be registered before any games, however if they are registered on Saturday or Sunday, they will have to pay $100 per player (it does not matter if they have not reached the free player limit).  No player may participate in a game unless he/she is registered in the official roster form.  The tournament will provide each player with bracelets, which the players must wear at all time.   Roster Form. 2 LISTA DE JUGADORES: Jugadores pueden ser registrados antes de cualquier juego, pero si se registran el Sabado o Domingo, tendran que pagar $100 por jugador (no importa que no hayan llegado al maximo de jugadores gratis). Ningún jugador puede participar en un juego al menos que esté registrado en el formulario de la lista oficial.  El torneo proporcionará a cada jugador brazaletes, que los jugadores deben usar en todo momento. 2a Note: a player that did not play on Saturday or any other game, may play on Sunday as long as the player is on the official player list. 2a Note: Un jugador que no haya jugado el Sabado o cualquier otro juego, si podra jugar el Domingo con tal que este registrado en la lista oficial.
3 NUMBER OF PLAYERS: The maximum number of free players on a team will be 23 players per team (free of charge).  If a team wants to register more than 23 players and up to 35 players, the team must play $100 per player that registers up to the 23 player free of charge limit. 3 NÚMERO DE JUGADORES: El número máximo de jugadores gratis será de 23 jugadores por equipo (de no costo).  Si un equipo quiere registrar mas de 23 y hasta lo maximo de 35 jugadores, entonces tendra que pagar $100 por cada jugador que se pase de los 23 jugadores.
4 GENDER: No males will be allowed to participate in any female divisions, except co-ed division. Females may play in male divisions. 4 GÉNERO: No se permitirá a los hombres participar en ninguna división femenina, excepto la división mixta. Las mujeres pueden jugar en divisiones masculinas.
5 EQUIPMENT: All players must wear shin guards and may not wear anything deemed dangerous to the referee or tournament officials. Teams are responsible for providing game balls (at least one acceptable game ball per game). 5 EQUIPAMIENTO: Todos los jugadores deben usar espinilleras y no pueden usar nada que se considere peligroso para el árbitro o los oficiales del torneo. Los equipos son responsables de proporcionar balones de juego (al menos un balon de juego aceptable por juego).
6 UNIFORMS: All teams must have at least two different set of uniforms (distinct colors).  If in the opinion of the referee both teams have similar colors, then the home team must change colors.  All uniforms must have different numbers on the back of at least 8 inches high. 6 UNIFORMES: Todos los equipos deben tener al menos dos conjuntos diferentes de uniformes (colores distintos). 7 FIELD DIMENSIONS: They will be specify by FIFA regulations. 7 DIMENSIONES DE CAMPO: Las regulaciones de la FIFA las especificarán.
8 Referee Fee: Each team must pay $150 before each game at the main table.  At that time, the team will receive a game roster form, which will be filled in by the team and turned in to the referee before the game begins.  There will be at least 3 referees per game.  Without this paid and filled in form, the referees will not start the game. 8 Tarifa de árbitro: Cada equipo debe pagar $150 antes de cada juego en la mesa directiva. 9 GAME DURATION: The duration of the game shall be 30 minutes per half with a 5-minute half-time. Pool games tied after regulation play may end in a tie. Playoff games cannot end tied. 9 DURACIÓN DEL JUEGO: La duración del juego será de 30 minutos por tiempo con un medio tiempo de 5 minutos. Los juegos de fase de grupo, si pueden terminar en un empate. Los juegos de playoff no pueden terminar empatados.
10 PLAYOFF OVERTIME: There will no be additional time in games where a winner must be determined.  The game will go directly into penalty kicks if there is tie at end of regular time (5 penalty kicks). 10 TIEMPO EXTRA: no habrá tiempo adicional en los juegos en los que se debe determinar un ganador. El juego irá directamente a los penales si hay un empate al final del tiempo regular (5 penales)
11 SCORING (IN POOL PLAY): 3 points for a win; 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss. A forfeit by a team is scored as 2-0 win.  A double forfeit will be scored as a 0-0 tied.  A team must be present to be able to win by forfeit. 11 PUNTUACIÓN (EN FASE DE GRUPO): 3 puntos por ganar; 1 punto por empate y 0 puntos por derrota. Un forfeit de un equipo se anota como una victoria de 2-0. Una doble forfeit se marcará como un empate 0-0. Un equipo debe estar presente para poder ganar por forfeit.
12 TIEBREAKERS: In pool play, ties between two or more teams will be broken by; 1)  points; 2) goal difference in pool play; 3) most goals scored for in pool play; 4) head to head results between tied teams; 5) Penalty kicks if it is to determine who advances to the next round.  If it is to determine the order of teams that have already advance, then it will be by lotery. 12 DESEMPATES: En los juegos de grupo, los empates entre dos o más equipos se romperán de esta manera: 1) puntos; 2) diferencia de goles en los juegos de grupo; 3) la mayoría de los goles marcados en los juegos de grupo; 4) resultados entre equipos los empatados; 5) Penalty kicks si es para determinar quien califica.  Si es para determinar e orden de equipos ya calificados, entonces sera por sorteo.
13 PLAYER EJECTION (RED CARD): Referees have the right to eject a player from the game for continual disobedience or as a result of an incident that warrants sending the player off. A RED CARD in a game (or two yellow cards), implies a suspension of at least 1 game unless the player is eligible to pay a fine.   The tournament officials may expel a player from the tournament or give a suspension of more than 1 game.  A player that received a red card in a game, may play the following game if a $200 fine is paid if the tournament officials determine that the red card was not grave. 13 EXPULSIÓN DEL JUGADOR (TARJETA ROJA): Los árbitros tienen el derecho de expulsar a un jugador del juego por desobediencia continua o como resultado de un incidente que justifica la expulsion del jugador. Una TARJETA ROJA (o dos amarillas) en un partido implica una suspencion de por lo menos un juego al menos que el jugador este elejible para pagar una multa. Los Directores del torneo puede expulsar al jugador por el resto del torneo o dar una suspencion de mas de un juego. Un jugador que recibio una tarjeta roja (o dos amarillas) en el juego, podra jugar si paga una multa de $200 y si los oficales del torneo determinan que la tarjeta roja no fue grave.
14 Yellow Cards: A player that receives a single yellow card in two different games will be suspended in the next game unless he is re-instated by paying the corresponding fine.    The fine in this circumstance is $100. 14 Tarjetas amarillas: Un jugador que reciba una tarjeta amarilla en dos juegos diferentes será suspendido en el próximo juego al menos que se le reincorpore mediante el pago de la multa correspondiente. La multa en esta circunstancia es de $100.
15 SPORTSMANSHIP: Players, coaches and spectators are expected to act in the nature of good sportsmanship at all times. Abuse of the referees will not be tolerated. Any instance of such conduct could disqualify the responsible team from the event.  15 DEPORTIVDAD: Se espera que los jugadores, entrenadores y espectadores actúen en la naturaleza del buen espíritu deportivo en todo momento. El abuso de los árbitros no será tolerado. Cualquier instancia de tal conducta, puede descalificar al equipo responsable del evento.
16 PROTEST: A team may protest a game.  The protest form will be available at the tournament and must be filled in.  Please note that a referee decisions (such as if a play was a foul or not, handball, offside, etc.)  may not be protested.   The cost to protest a game is of $250 and must be done to the tournament officials within 2 minutes of the end of the game.  At most 2 players may be protested per game. 16 PROTESTA: Un equipo puede protestar un juego. El formulario de protesta estará disponible en el torneo y debe completarse. Tenga en cuenta que las decisiones de un árbitro (por ejemplo, si una jugada fue una falta o no, balonmano, fuera de juego, etc.) no se pueden protestar.  El costo de protestar un juego sera de $250 y solo se hace con los oficales del torneo y tendra que hacer no mas tarde que 2 minutos despues que se acabe el partido.  Solo se puede protestar maximo 2 jugadores por juego.
17 Substitutions: There will be free substitutions, which means a team may have an unlimited number of substitutions during the game and a player that was substituted out may go back into the game. 17 Sustituciones: habrá sustituciones libres, lo que significa que un equipo puede tener un número ilimitado de sustituciones durante el juego y un jugador que fue sustituido puede volver al juego.27
18 Awards: The two finalists will receive a team trophy as well as 25 medals.  Additionally the second place and the champions will receive $60,000 (check) combined.  The two finalist will communicate with the organizing committee before the final to let them know who the checks will made to.   For Copa B the award will be $20,000. 18 Premios: Los dos finalistas recibirán un trofeo de equipo, así como 25 medallas. Además, el segundo lugar y los campeones recibirán $60,000 combinados (en cheque.   Los dos finalistas se comuicaran con el comite organizador antes de la final para que les digan a nombre de quieren el cheque.  Para la Copa B, el premio sera de $20,000.
19. At check-in, each team must turn in a filled-in roster form.  The form is located at the tournament's website (print it and fill it in).  It is not necessary for the players to be there. 19. En el check-in, cada equipo debera entregar su forma de roster completamente llena.  Esta forma esta localizada en la pagina de wen del torneo (imprimela y llenela).   No es necesario que los jugadores esten presentes.
20. Each player will receive a wristband at check-in (given to the coach).  This wrist band must be worn by the player at all times during the game and it is good for both days. 20. Cada jugador recibira una pulsera en el check-in (dada al coach).  Esta pulsera debera ser puesta por cada jugador en todo el tiempo y es valida por los dos dias de competencia.  
21. At the bench, only the registered players and 5 (five) coaches and assistant coaches may be present. 21. En la banca, solamente pueden estar los jugadores registrados y 5 (cinco) entrenadores o asistentes. 
22. There will not be waiting time, the games will start on time.   The referee may start the game clock if both teams are at the field, but not ready to start the game.   There will not be a coin flip except on the finals.   The home team will choose the side of the field and the visitor team will kick-off. 22. No habra prorroga para empezar el partido, todos los juegos deberan empezar a tiempo.   El arbotro puede empezar el tiempo del partido si los dos equipos entan en el campo y no estan listos para empezar el partido.  No habra bolado del juego excepto en las finales.  El equipo local escojera la cancha y el equipo visitante empezara el juego.
23. Each team must be ready at the fields at least 30 minutes before game time at the field so they be checked in by the referee of tournament officials.   The teams must already have the filled in roster form, which will be given after paying the referee fee at the main tent. 23. Cada equipo debera estar listo por lo menos 30 minutos antes del juego en la cancha para hacer checado por los arbitros o oficales del torneo.   Los equipos deberan estar listos con las formas de roster llenas, que sera dada una vez que paguen la cuota de arbitro en la mesa directiva.
24. A team may be disqualified from the tournament if, in the opinion of the referee and/or tournament officials, the team does not try its best to win a game.   This happens most of the time when two teams need a result in the last group play to advance. 24. Un equipo puede ser descalficado, si en al opnion del arbitro or/y los oficiales del torneo, el equipo no se esfueza lo maximo para ganar un partirdo. Esto pasa mas cuando dos equipos necesitan un resultado en el ultimo juego de grupo para avanzar.
25 Teams and players may not bring in food or beverages inside the park. 25 Los equipos y jugadores no podran traer comida o bevidas adrentro del parque.
26 Schedules:  Due to unforeseen circumstances, the tournament reserves the right to modify the schedule at any time. 26 Horarios.  Por razones no previstas, el torneo reserva el derecho a modificar el horario de juegos en cualquier momento.
27 Team Withdrawal. In case a team withdrawals before competition has started, the tournament directors reserve the right to replace that team up to 12 hours before the tournament starts.. 27 Cuando se sale un equipo del torneo antes que empieze, los directores del torneo tienen el derecho a remplazar a ese equipo por lo menos 12 horas antes que empieze el torneo.
28 Once a team has paid any part of the team or player registration fee, this payment may not be returned if the team or player withdrawals from the tournament. 28 Una vez que algun equipo haga un pago de equipo o de jugador, este pago no puede ser regresado si el equipo o el jugador se retira del torneo.
