Purpose.  The purpose of this Athletic Scholarship is to encourage student athletes to continue studying after graduating high school so they can better contribute to our community in a positive manner.   

It is the goal of the Inner City Soccer organization to give $1,000 scholarships for high school student athletes to pursue an education after graduating high school.   An equal number of girls and boys will receive the $1,000 scholarships.

Requirements:

·         Be a senior in the current school year (2019-2020).

·         Have played school soccer at the varsity level for at least one year.

·         Have lived the Houston area continuously for the last 24 months.

·         Must go to a high school that is in the Houston area (within 70 miles of driving distance of downtown Houston, area code 77002)

·         Must have at least a 3.0 GPA average after their Junior Year.

·         Must have applied to any university or community college by the time the deadline.

Essay:  Each student applying to this scholarship must write a typed essay.

·         Please put your name, name of your high school and date on the top right corner.

·         Please put the title in the middle of first line in bold: “Who has been your biggest role model in your life?”

·         The essay must be written in English.

·         The essay must be at least 250 words and no more than 350 words.

·         The font must be “Times Roman” and the font size 12.

·         The essay in word format must be emailed to juanvasquezani@yahoo.com along with the registration form (which is on the website).

·         The email subject must say: Inner City Scholarship Fund <complete name>.
